Explore the highlights of the museum on a guided tour with one of our friendly and knowledgeable museum educators.

On your tour, you will discover some of the museum’s most iconic objects, uncover hidden treasures and hear fascinating stories of how Australia is a nation shaped by sea.

Highlights tours explore a range of topics, including First Nations connections to Sea Country, intrepid stories of migration across the sea, ocean science innovations, maritime archaeology discoveries and tales of historic vessels and voyages.

 

Program structure

This program consists of a one-hour tour, led by an experienced and knowledgeable museum educator.

At the time of booking, please tell us about your specific areas of interest and any learning outcomes that you would like us to address during the tour. Our museum educators can tailor the tour so that you will see the most relevant objects and exhibitions.

 

 

Booking information

Duration: 60-minute tour

Cost: $225 per group with a maximum of 15 students. Teachers / supervisors are FREE.

Ratio: The supervisor to student ratio is 1:15. Students must be accompanied by a supervisor at all times.

Accessibility: This tour is conducted within the main museum building and along the wharves. There is ramp and lift access to all exhibition spaces within the main museum building. This tour does not include boarding the vessels.
