Fun and Learning for Under 5s

The Maritime Museum welcomes 2-5-year-olds and their parents/carers!

    Every month, Mini Mariners welcomes 2-5 year-olds and their parents/carers. Explore the galleries, sing and dance in interactive tours with costumed guides. Enjoy creative free play, craft, games, dress-ups and story time in our themed activity area.

    September - Art Adventure

    Mini Mariners - craft

    Join us for an art adventure! Sing the colours of the rainbow, follow straight, curved and wiggly lines through our temporary exhibitions as we spot amazing animals, pretty patterns and spectacular stories in photos, paintings and sculptures. Make your own works of art to take home and enjoy storytime, songs and games. 

    Date: Tuesdays 5, 12, 19, 26, Saturday 16 September

    Time: 10am or 11am

    October - Terrific Transport

    Toot toot, chug, chug and row, row around the museum as we explore different types of transport and how they move in special character tours for under 5s and their carers. Enjoy stories, sing songs and move and dance through the galleries in this fun filled learning program. Craft your own souvenir boat, hot air balloon or sailor hat to take home.

    Date: Tuesdays 10, 17, 24, 31, Saturday 14  October

    Art Adventure - School Holiday Sessions

    Explore amazing artworks on display at the museum through movement, songs and storytime in a fun and interactive learning program especially designed for toddlers.  

    Date: Tuesday 26 & Saturday 30 September
    Tuesday 3 October & Saturday 7 October

    Time: 10am or 11am

    General Information

    Please meet at the foyer 5–10 minutes before the program and collect your sticker from the front desk. If you arrive early or want to stay longer, you can explore our galleries and our Mini Mariners Play space or grab a coffee from the Kiosk or Yots cafe.

    Prices: $8.50 per child, first adult $3.50, additional adults $7. FREE for Members.
