    Have an adventure at the Maritime Museum every school holidays with exhibitions, vessels, hands-on workshops, interactive activities and more. It’s fun for the whole family!

    And with handy facilities like a takeaway kiosk, cafe, picnic benches and harbour-side wharf area, the Maritime Museum is hard to beat for winter fun with the kids.

    Pre-purchase a great value Big Ticket and beat the queues or buy one on arrival and you'll get entry to all our exhibitions and vessels as well as Kids on Deck and our Theatre Program.

    Screening here daily at 2.30pm during the holidays. Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private join forces with undercover organization The North Wind to stop the villainous Dr. Octavius Brine from destroying the world as we know it.

    Join us for an imaginative journey around the galleries, interactive storytelling and physical theatre performances inspired by the Amazing Antarctic this holidays.

    Explore wonderful and curious specimens and artefacts in this interactive discovery device in our galleries.

    Dive in to the museum for lots of great exhibitions for kids and carers alike.

    Climb aboard our vessels

    Climb aboard our real-life secret and stealthy submarine HMAS Onslow moored right outside the museum in Darling Harbour, as well as the HMB Endeavour and HMAS Vampire.

    Any main meal served with a glass of wine or cold beer, chosen from a menu of modern Australian cuisine and lovely fresh seafood. This is waterfront dining at its best with views of the Sydney skyline and our submarine and destroyer.

  • Vacation Care Programs

    Vacation Care Programs

    The museum offers interesting vacation care programs – that are great value! Vacation care groups can enjoy organised activities every school holidays. Stay all day or come for a few hours.

    Programs can include:
    • Exhibitions
    • Kids on Deck activities where children (5–12) can get creative with art-making activities, craft, dress-ups, science activities and interactive games. The program changes every term.
    • Entry to the destroyer HMAS Vampire, the submarine HMAS Onslow and HMB Endeavour.
    • Entry to performance programs such as storytelling and circus, Cabinet of Curiosities and more.
    • Free entry for 2 adults per 10 children
    • Free bus parking
    • Cost: $10 per child (for groups of 10 children or more)
    • $4 extra/child for 1874 tall ship James Craig.
