Guests at a Welcome Wall ceremony

Celebrate the latest Welcome Wall registrants at our regular unveiling ceremonies.

  • About the unveiling ceremony

The Welcome Wall stands in honour of families who have migrated to Australia with registered names permanently engraved in bronze. Currently there are over 29,000 names on the Welcome Wall with representation from over 200 countries.

The museum holds unveiling ceremonies twice a year to mark the mounting of a new bronze panel to the Welcome Wall.

New registrants to the Welcome Wall, their families and friends are invited to this celebration of their life-changing journeys to Australia.

The ceremony provides guests with the opportunity to view the panel for the first time in what is always a moving and festive ceremony. The event sees different family generations gather together to reflect on and celebrate their cultural heritage.
