    Members have an exclusive opportunity to attend the opening launch and preview of the new exhibition Lustre: Pearling and Australia.  

    The exhibition traces the fascinating heritage of pearling across the north of Australia, from Shark Bay to the Torres Strait Islands.  The exhibition delves into the gritty human story of pearling, weaving together intersecting strands of Aboriginal, Asian and European histories to reveal insights into one of Australia's oldest industries.

    Come along and enjoy:

    • Welcome to Country
    • Light refreshments of Indigenous food
    • Introduction from Di Appleby, senior Yawuru woman
    • Tour from Curators Sarah Yu, Bart Pigram from Nyamba Buru Yawuru and Maya Shioji from Yawuru Language Centre
