Join guest speaker James Warrand as he brings to life some very personal memories on the impact the loss of HMS Hood - the Mighty Hood, lost in battel against the German battleship Bismark in the Denmark Strait 24/5/1941.

  • Join guest speaker James Warrand as he brings to life some very personal memories on the impact the loss of HMS Hood - the Mighty Hood, lost in battel against the German battleship Bismark in the Denmark Strait 24/5/1941. HMS Hood lost 1415 crew including Commander SJP Warrand RN - James' father. 

    James' story will include an outline on why HMS Hood was so important to the RAN and some of the ship's important cruises and operations. James will share with listeners the final battle and the close relationshiop survivor Ted Briggs had with the Warrand family.

    Date: Thursday 8 February 2018, 2pm - 4pm.

    Cost: Members $20, Adults $35.
