    Play, create and discover in Kids on Deck – a fun filled activity space with art making, games, and dress ups for primary school aged children and their carers. 

    Available most Sundays during school term and daily during school holidays. See below for themes and exact dates and times.

    Scurvy Swashbucklers and Science  

    This term delve into the history of Pirates in an adventure with science! Create your own terrific tall ship, experiment with flintlock shot marble paintings, making a kaleido-telescope or other piratical accessory.  Enjoy dress ups and interactive games.  

    Sundays, 11am–3pm 


    Stars and Songlines

    These holidays, delve into the history of seafarers and celestial navigation all around the world. Create your own tick, tock and twinkle prints, make your own glow-in-the-dark stickers, design your own sculptural ship or an imaginary navigational instrument. Enjoy dress ups and interactive games. 

    Daily, 3–17 July 2016, 10am–4pm

    Mariners, myths and monsters

    13  20 December
    11 am – 3 pm

    Play, create and discover in Kids on Deck an art making, free play and activity space for primary school aged children and their carers.

    Rats, bats and bunting tossers

    Every Sunday in November & 6 December
    11 am – 3 pm

    Be inspired by some of the quirky stories about life on board our destroyer or submarine.  Make your own bat bunting, sculpt a submarine or battleship, craft a coded souvenir badge or design a temporary tattoo. Play shipboard games, learn secret semaphore codes and dress-up in costumes inspired by our vessels’ mascots and sailor style.

    This holidays dip into the mysterious world of myths about the mystic blue sea. Craft your own mermaid shadow puppet, dramatic diorama, exquisite creature mobile or souvenir badge.

    Dress up in mythic creature costumes and create your own stories and sounds of the sea with interactive games.

    Amazing Antarctic

    11am - 3pm | 19 & 26 July| 2, 9 & 30 August | 6 September

    Play, create and discover in Kids on deck with art making, interactive games and dress ups! Be inspired by the amazing Antarctic environment and Antarctic explorers past and present. Create your own snow-dome, collage an icy Antarctic landscape or sculpt a super explorers tool.


    Splendiferous Submarine

    11am - 3pm | Sunday 23 August

    Peer up periscopes, play, create and discover at Kids on deck with art making, interactive games, science experiments and dress ups! Be inspired by inventive, amazing and splendiferous submarines and deep-sea worlds. Craft your own steampunk goggles, make a model submarine or a periscope.


    Terrific ‘Tarcs

    10am - 4pm| daily during school holidays, 28 June - 12 July

    Play, create and discover in Kids on deck with art making, interactive games and dress ups! Be inspired by the amazing Antarctic environment and Antarctic explorers past and present.
