Ticket prices and bookings

Detailed booking information and ticket prices are available in the Events and Activities section.

Entry is free to the museum's core exhibitions, special temporary exhibitions, Wharf 7 Maritime Heritage Centre, North Wharf and marina (to view small vessels) and Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse.

Opening hours: Every day 9.30 am - 5.00 pm (6.00 pm in January). We are closed 25 December (Christmas Day).

Pre-booked groups of 10 or more receive a 20% discount.

Ticket definitions

Child: 5-15 years (free vessels entry for children under five years).
Children under 90 centimetres are not permitted to board HMB Endeavour replica,  or submarine HMAS Onslow.
Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult when boarding the vessels.
Concession: This includes students with Australian or International Student Card identification, Australian pensioners and Australian seniors with an identity card.
Family: Two adults and a maximum of four children.
Group: Pre-booked groups of 10 people or more enjoy discounts as listed in the pricing table above.

Group visits

Groups of 10 or more receive discounted entry, free coach parking and coffee vouchers for coach drivers. Please book at least five working days prior to allow us time to organise your tour. Full payment will be charged for cancellations with less than five working days notice. Payment is required on arrival by cash, credit or cheque. Please make cheques out to Australian National Maritime Museum.

* Extras such as morning or afternoon tea in our waterside café Yots can be arranged for an additional $5.00 per person. Please let the Bookings Officer know at the time of booking if you wish to include morning or afternoon tea.

Other group visits

Maritime Cruise Package (for groups of 30 or more): A unique and interesting half-day tour, the Maritime Cruise Package is a great way to see Sydney Harbour and experience the National Maritime Museum at a fantastic price!

Includes:

• Free on-site coach parking
• One-hour harbour cruise on a heritage ferry
• Dedicated tour host to greet and escort guests on board
• Cruise commentary and morning tea
• One-hour guided tour of museum galleries or destroyer HMAS Vampire and admission to submarine HMAS Onslow

* Complimentary refreshments for coach drivers at Yots Café

Cost: $600 flat rate for up to 30 people. $20 per head for extra people.

Special hosted visit (for groups of 15+)

The Special Hosted Visit is available exclusively to groups that have hired a speaker from the museum's Speaker Panel. It includes a tour guided by the speaker and morning or afternoon tea at the museum's waterside café, Yots.

General museum tour: $6 per person
Museum and HMB Endeavour tour: $10 per person
Museum and Navy ships tour: $10 per person
Combined tour (museum, HMB Endeavour and Navy ships): $13 per person
