Children's activities
Discover the fun and adventure of our children's activities. There's something for every sized sailor. Our age-based programs are:
- Mini Mariners for children under five (Tuesdays during term time)
- Kids on Deck for children aged 5-12 (Sundays and school holidays)
- Youth workshops (ages 8-14) run throughout the school holidays.

Explore the world of Sindbad the Sailor. Use block printing techniques to create a teatowel to take home. Design your own mehndi on paper- a traditional body art using henna. Discover a fragrant world of spices from Zanzibar and use Islamic art as inspiration to paint your own decorative tile.
For children 5-12
Cost: $7 per child or FREE with any purchased ticket. Adults/Members FREE.
Henna Painting in Kids on Deck

Children in Kids Deck can get their hand painted with cosmetic coloured powder in beautiful designs.

Workshops from the Arabian Nights
Monday 27th September - Friday 1st October | 10.30am, 12noon, 1.30pm sessions
Get creative in a series of half hour workshops celebrating cultures from the Middle East to the East African coast.

Be inspired by the images in Sons of Sindbad. Learn to use professional camera equipment to capture scenes in an outdoor photo shoot. You will get to have you best shot printed and framed to take home as well as a cd of all your photos.

Group day of fun

We welcome your vacation care group, scouts, guides, birthday parties or other special interest groups to the museum. These parties include party food, games and prizes, take home bags, helium balloons and a birthday cake. A highlight of our two-hour parties is a tour of HMAS Vampire. For bookings and enquiries, contact www.lanabananafun.com.au DIY: If you want to organise your own party, there are always lots of fun things to do at the museum. We offer a group discount and discounted all day parking at Harbourside parking ($12.00 per day). The museum's café Yots offers special birthday party catering.
