Free Chemistry: Shipwrecks, Corrosion and Conservation Case Study video conference

The Australian National Maritime Museum is offering senior chemistry students the opportunity to meet our in-house experts as they discuss new conservation processes to be undertaken and contemporary corrosion and conversation issues.
Join our Maritime Archaeology Manager, Kieran Hosty and Conservation Manager, Jonathan London as they present two in-depth case studies, on the retrieval, original conservation and subsequent conservation work on the Sirius Anchor and three small objects found recently on the Great Barrier Reef.
At the conclusion of each case study there will be an opportunity for students to ask our experts during the question and answer session.

Tim Jarvis AM, Shackleton Epic expedition leader, is one of the world's leading explorers and possesses an extraordinary adventure and leadership resume. He is also a best-selling author, film-maker and public speaker, and has recently returned from Antarctica where he retraced Sir Ernest Shackleton's legendary 1916 voyage of survival and crossing of South Georgia's mountainous interior.
Join Tim for an exclusive talk for schools at the museum on Friday 14 June at 10 am or 1 pm. Afterwards, view the stunning photography exhibition Elysium Antarctic Visual Epic.
